Grade 9 Science Term Project

Science 105 and 106 have a term project due on Tuesday, November 17th.
The project is a research paper on a Canadian Scientist. Students will be given two clases to begin the project but will need to complete it at home or after school in the library. Each student has now chosen their topic and have received the criteria for the paper.

Homework Science 206

Students are to complete the notes on section 1.15 in their science book. These were started in class Wednesday. Questions 1 and 7 are also to be completed for homework due for their next science class.

Homework Science 106

Students are to complete the molecule diagrams for Lab 2.9 Building Models of Molecules and pass the lab sheet in at their next science class Wednesday, October 28th.

Grade 8 Science Term Project

Science 205 and 206 have completed their classes in the computer lab to do research for their term project. Students must now finish their research at home or during lunch or after school. The project is due on Monday, November 16th.

Students are to complete the analysis for Lab 4.8 Components of Soil. This lab report is due on Tuesday, October 27th.

Homework Science 105

Complete the worksheet Chemical Symbols, Formulas, and Molecules to be passed in on Monday, October 26th.

Homework Science 105 and 106

Lab 2.2 , Classifying Elements, was completed on Friday, October 23rd. Students have collected all their data and now for homework are to finish the analysis and questions 1, 2 and 4 on page 49 in their science book. The answers are to be attached to the lab report and passed in on Monday, October 26th.

Homework Science 106

Students are to complete questions for section 2.7 and on the worksheet titled Chemical Symbols, Formulas, and Molecules provided in class. This work is to be completed for the next science class, Friday, October 23rd.

Homework Science 205

Complete questions on page 41 in science book. The lab report for the lab on plant and animal cells is past due.

Homework Science 313

Students are to complete the chart on soil which was started in class. The information can be found on pages 210 in their science book. Students are to also complete the questions on page 211.

Grade 9 Science Homework

Science 105 and 106 are to complete the activity listing metals in their home and questions 1 to 3 on page 51 for homework. Homework is due at the beginning of their next science class.

Grade 7 Science Term Project

Science 313 and 309 will complete a design challenge for their term project. The project is due on Friday, November 13th.
They will be building a model of a farmers field in which the soil resists erosion and water runoff. The particulars for this project can be found on page 243 in their science book. Students can work alone or with one partner. They will need to build and test their model at home before brining it to school.

Grade 8 Science Term Project

Science 205 and 206 will have a term project on a disease due on Thursday, November .12th.
This project will be started in class but will need to be completed at home. Students have been given the requirements for this project.

Grade 7 Science Quiz

Science 313 and 309 will have a quiz on Thursday, October 29th. The quiz will cover sections 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, and 4.10 in their science book. A review will be done in class to help students prepare for the quiz.

Homework Science 206

Students are to finish the following unicellular terms for homework; bacteria, protists, diatoms, euglena, ameoba, paramecium, fungus, and yeast.
These terms were started in class and anyone who did not complete in class is to at home for their next class Thursday, October 22nd.

Students are currently working on section 4.6 in their science book.

Students will be staring section 1.12 in their science books this Tuesday, October 13th.
Tests written on October 8th will be returned this week for parent signatures.

Science 105 and 106

We are starting chapter 2 on Tuesday, October 13th.
The corrected tests from chapter 1 will be returned, to students, this week for parent signatures.

Homework Science 313 and 309

Students are to pass in the Chocolate Ore Mining Lab on Tuesday, October 6th. The data was collected in class Monday, and students are to complete the analysis as homework.

Grade 9 Science Quiz

Science 105 and science 106 will have a quiz on Friday, October 9th.
The quiz will cover chapter 1 in the Matter unit plus homework, labs, and classwork. A review will be done in class to help the students prepare for the quiz.

Grade 7 Science Quiz

Science 313 will have a quiz on Wednesday, October 7th.
Science 309 will have a quiz on Thursday, October 8th.
The quiz will cover the first section of the Earth's Crust unit. The sections on the quiz are: 4.1, 4.2, 4.4, and 4.5 plus homework, labs, and classwork. A review will be done in class to help the students prepare for the quiz.

Grade 8 Science Quiz

Science 205 and science 206 will have a quiz on Thursday, October 8th. The quiz will cover the first section of the cells unit. The sections on the quiz are: 1.1, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.6 plus homework, labs, classwork and their cell booklet. A review will be done in class to help the students prepare for the quiz.

Science 206

Homework: Students are to completed the analysis for the Plant and Animal Cell Lab. The drawings and lab work were completed in the lab on Friday. Students are to complete the analysis for homework. The lab report is due on Monday, October 5th.

Science 313 and 309

Homework: The lab on discovering minerals is due. Students completed most of the work and data collection in the lab. The analysis was for homework and is due their next science class if not already handed in.

Science 106

Homework: Lab 1.8 Observing Changes, is due on Monday October 5th. Labs 1.3, 1.5 and 1.6 are past due.
