Grade 7 Science

Term Project- Students can get a head start on their term project over the holidays. This project will be due in early Feb. The details can be found on page 62-63 in their science book. Students can choose from any one of the three projects; A Water Purification System, A Recycling Syustem for Plastic, Glass, and Paper or A Mechanical Soil and Gravel Separator.

Grade 8 Science

Students in grade 8 are working on Fluids. We are currently working on Density, section 2.8 in their science book. This will continue in January.

Term Project- Students can begin their term project over the holidays to get a head start. This project will be due early in Feb. The project details can be found on pages 134-135 in their science book. Students can choose any one of the three choices; A Safety Hinge, A Boat Navigation System or A Fish Tank Cleaner.

Grade 9 Science

Science 105 and 106 recieved their corrected tests today during science class. Each student is asked to correct all mistakes, get the test signed and return it to Mrs. Caissy for bonus marks. The tests need to be returned ASAP.

The next unit for grade 9 science is Electricity. This will begin in January. Students are asked to organize their scribblers and remove all old work so they can start in January fresh for the new unit.

Grade 7 Science

Students in Science 313 and 309 received their corrected science tests today during class. Students are asked to correct all their mistakes, get the test signed and return it to Mrs. Caissy for bonus marks. The test needs to be returned ASAP.

Grade 9 Science Help Class

A science help class for students needing help for the upcoming quiz will take place on Monday December 17th, 12:45 to 1:15 pm in room 313. Students can bring their lunch. Students attending need to have studied some on their own before coming to help class so they can use this time to their best advantage. :)

Grade 7 Science

Grade 7 science students have started a new unit titled Pure Substances and Mixtures.

Grade 9 Science

All grade 9 science students received a review sheet today, to help them prepare for the upcoming quiz. The review sheet is to be completed for homework due for Monday, December 17th. During class on the 17th the review sheet will be corrected. The quiz will take place on the 18th.

Grade 7 Science

Homework for Science 309 and Science 313 - Students are to have completed the 4 questions started in class on Earthquakes. These questions are to be answered for their next science class on Tuesday December 11th.

Grade 9 Science

Homework for Science 106 and Science 105 - students are asked to finish the worksheet on Isotopes and Radioisotopes for Tuesday, December 11th.

Grade 8 Science

Science 206 and 209 have started a new unit in science titled Fluids.

Grade 9 Science

Science 105 and 106 will have a quiz on Tuesday December 18. The quiz will cover chapter 3 and a few sections in Chapter 4. A few students are having difficulty with the model of the atom and Bohr-Rutherford Diagrams. A number of classes have been spent working with these two concepts. Students need to spend time going over their notes, book and learning these science concepts. Some of their confusion comes from time not spent memorizing and reviewning work completed in class.

Grade 7 Science Quiz

Science 309 and 313 will have a quiz on Wednedsday, December 12. This quiz was orginally scheduled for December 10th but due to the storm has been delayed two days. A review will be done in class and each student will have a corrected review sheet to assist in their preparation for this quiz. The quiz will be the last one in the unit on Earth's Crust. The sections this quiz covers are 4.14, 4.15, 4.16, 4.17, and 4.22.

Grade 7 Science

Science 309 and 313 are currently finishing the unit on the Earth's Crust. We are studying about Earthquakes and volcanoes in class this week and into next week. A quiz will be on Monday December 10th. A review will be done in class late next week. The next unit is called Pure Substances and Mixtures.

Grade 9 Science

Science 105 and 106 are currently working in Chapter 3 of their science book. The lesson finished today was 3.4 A "Planetary" Model of the Atom. Homework due next class is to complete the worksheet on Bohr-Rutherford Diagrams. A quiz will be coming up soon as we are nearly finished of this chapter.

Grade 8 Science Quiz

Grade 8 science students have a quiz on Wednesday November 28th. The quiz will cover sections 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16, and 1.21 in their science book. A review was completed in class. All students have a corrected review sheet to assist in their preparation for this quiz.
